Bruised Sabrina - KSZN RPS, WRST, CZPK, and new PSK colors
This time we've prepared a long preview of things to come. Despite lousy May weather, with it's Autumn-like winds and rains, we headed for the Frascati parc in Warsaw to shoot a few new Mufa Wear items. Sabrina had just returned from a track race in Cottbus, Germany. Fresh wounds visible in the pictures were the immediate results of a fall on a steep, concrete track. Blood was shed. You see, for Sabrina fixed gear is not a hipster machine. She rides hard, for real.
As for new items - in a few days we'll be puting up separate posts about individual products. But for now, here it is.
KSZN RPS - a soft, vegetarian version of our trusted KSZN pouch. Outer layer is a pixelated camo rip-stop (used by the Finnish army for uniforms) – cotton for a soft touch + syntetics for durability. Inside, you'll find bright pink polyester, and velcro closure. The whole thing is highly weather resistant.
We made two functional modifications to the original KSZN design. First of all, we sewed reflective tape on both sides to increase visibility on the road. Second of all, we added an adjustable strap (2 cm wide) with snaphooks on both sides. It's easy to put it on, or take off completely, should you prefer to use KSZN RPS as pouch for storing stuff and carrying it in another, bigger bag. Now, you don't need a belt to carry KSZN RPS on your waist!
Girls and 100% macho men can easily transform it into a stylish purse.
Inside, you can fit a small notebok, a pen, a phone, a small tool. More details soon, in a separate post.
Price: 16 Euro.
CZPK is a cycling hat everyone looks good in. A bit dissapointed by the look, and quality of cycling caps available on the market (well, at least those from the lower pricepoint - we're not competing with Outlier's high end stuff here), we decided to make one ourselves. Mufa CZPK is a classic four-panel construction, but it's quite a bit shallower than most cycling hats. You won't fit dreadlocks underneath, but if you have a bit more, shall we say, standard haircut, it'll fit like a dream. We made the beak soft, so the cap can be easily folded and stuffed in a pocket without the risk of damaging it. If the beak ever looses it's shape, simply iron it on low heat, and presto - it's as good as new. Mufa Wear CZPK's are washable, of course.
There're two sizes: S/M, and L/XL. For now, three color versions: very dark navy blue (with a yellow-green band inside), black, and Finnish camo with pink undeside of the beak (the exact colors of the KSZN RPS).
There's another thing about CZPK, but let's leave it until the separate post appears :-)
Price: 16 Euro.
New colors of the PSK - your favorite ankle bands rescuing your pants. New colors, new patterns - ask, and you will be answered ;-)
Price: 7 Euro.
WRST is a bracelet for the forgetful. We used the same recycled, natural leather scraps we make PSK's of. WRST is not only about looks - besides vivid colors, and snap closure (two positions: one for men, the other for women), there's an eyelet for attaching a bike lock key. Thanks to WRST it's always close at hand (quite literally), and less likely to be lost.
Various colors, limited editions - ask before purchasing.
Price: 7 euro.
Many thanks to Sabrina for modelling despite still being sore. Big up!
In a few days, every new item will get a separate post. We will publish PayPal links for direct purchase then. If you can't wait, order by e-mail at: mufawear@gmail.com.

TRB – take only the essentials
At last! TRB was one of the first Mufa's projects, but it took quite a bit longer to get if finished than we first expected. We made the first prototypes in November, 2009. Now it's ready for the world to see it, use it, and abuse it! And, well, buy it in the first place! :-)
The reflective stripe makes you visible on the road, and visibility means safety.
We were trying to create a bag we couldn't find on the market. Something midsized, flat, handy, stylish – something that could fit just the right amount of stuff. Something comfortable on the bike, hence the stabilizer strap, and the reflective detail on the cover.
Handy stabilizer strap, easily tightened with one hand. Put the loose end in the loop, so that nothing's hanging out.
We went for flexibility, and decided to use snap closure to allow for different sizes. Maximum capacity fits a 13" Macbook, some books (we hope you read books! ;-), some papers or magazines (eg. something like this: www.theridejournal.com). Not necessarily everything at the same time. The idea is not to carry all your stuff on you, and to limit oneself to the essentials. You could fit more stuff in a messenger bag that’s eight times as big, costs eight times more, and takes up eight times more space in the closet.
Minimum capacity makes TRB not much bigger than a purse, but looks manly enough for the guys to carry it.
Use the snap closure to adjust height.
Available in three colors: muted red, blue, black (in two variants: one is sewn with black thread, the other with contrasting red thread).
Available in: black, blue, red.
The fabric is thick polyester woven similarly to the bulletproof Cordura, and laminated on the inside, which makes it not only practically indestructible, but also waterproof. The inside is left raw – no lining. Strong thread, strong straps, and strong buckles ensure years of uninterrupted use.
Approximate maximum dimensions: 35.5 cm (14", height) x 27 cm (10.6", width) x 3 cm (1.2", depth). Everything depends on the way you want to fill TRB – there’s more than enough room for a few beers.
Approximate minimum dimensions: 28.5 cm (11.2", height) x 27 cm (10.6", width) x 3 cm (1.2", depth) cm.
Main strap length: 92 cm (36.2", fits all).
Stabilizer strap – if it bothers you (on the rare occasion while not on a bike), you can take it off. Just unbuckle the strap, and take the other end (secured with velcro) off the main strap. The main strap is sewn at an angle, so that the bag doesn’t slip around your body, even without the stabilizer strap.
Price: 22 Euro.

Mufa thanks Mikolaj from Filtry Cafe for brave posing on the bike. He had to accellerate to 40 km/h (25 mph), ride the whole length of the street, take a short break (like, 15 seconds), and then the whole thing again the other way round. For 35 minutes. And he’s looking so fresh in the last pictures… ;-) We also thank Maciek for driving the photographer around, and not running Mikolaj over.
Some black TRB's were sewn with red thread.

CHSTK FLN & LN – the call of spring
The sun is shining, spring is finally in full bloom, and riding a bicycle is not a hard core activity anymore. But remember – the spring breeze easily turns into a strong headwind, and there's nothing wrong with keeping your neck warm. And while you're at it, why not do it in style?
That's why we prepared two new, spring/summer versions of the trusted CHSTK. The shape and the basic idea remain the same – we have the same wide ends with cut off corners to help keep warm not only the front, but also the back of the neck; and velcro closure still makes putting the CHSTK on and adjusting the length a breeze. (More information here). The difference is in the fabrics.
CHSTK FLN is made of the softest cotton checkered flannel (black/sapphire). Velcro closure in black. Suits colder spring and summer days.
CHSTK LN is 100% Italian flax with a slightly uneven surface. As for color – it's somewhere between orange, and apricot; it's vivid and subtle at the same time. This textile almost always remains cool to the touch, so it's best suited for warmer days. Velcro closure in deep green.
No labels, only Mufa logo stamped on the back.
Price – CHSTK FLN: 13 Euro.
Price – CHSTK LN: 14 Euro.

In the pictures – Marek (thanks for helping me out with that brake!) from the soon to open Warsaw bicycle cafe Relaks (Puławska 48, entrance from Dabrowskiego). In a day or two you'll be able to have a fine coffee there (La Marzocco!), mend your bike, and buy bicycle clothing & accessories (Mufa Wear included). Mufa likes!

TSHRT Peter CMYK - Mufa tee strikes back
It's the second generation of the Mufa t-shirt. This time it's all about spring, and vivid colors. On the chest, there's a halftone image of an American trackracer from the beginning of the 20th century. "Peter" in the name of our tee was his first name. On the back, in the lower right-hand corner there's a small Mufa logo in the same color as the main graphics.
Each size of the tee has graphics in a different color:
- Small is magenta,
- Medium is cyan,
- Large is yellow.
Hence „CMYK” in the name (the last letter stands for black of the shirt itself :-).
This time, for the TSHRT Peter CMYK, we used American Apparel Fine Jersey Short Sleeve tee. Some say it's the best cotton t-shirt on the planet, and who are we to disagree. But seriously – it's awfuly nice, soft, and comfortable.
What's important from the cyclist's point of view is the slim fit, and the length of the shirt. These are probably the longest tees on the market, so they keep you decent even when you reach for the lowest grips of the drop bars. Also, if you're slim and tall, you don't have to buy the large size, because you'll probably fit in a medium.
Price: 22 Euro.

In the pictures: Paweł, Karol, Łukasz, Emilia, and Marcin (the latter from an old school hard core band Death Row – Mufa likes!).

BRLK – recycled keyring
We've always stressed that we hate to see anything go to waste. It's no coincidence that many Mufa products are made of recycled materials that would otherwise end up in the dumpster. Still, we too generate some waste – scraps, fluff etc. It would be a pity, if we were to throw it all away.
click the picture for a bigger view
That's how BRLK was conceived – as a keyring made of recycled materials. Every BRLK is unique. Some color and/or materials combinations may appear a few times, but no two BRLK's are the same. On the back – Mufa stamp to remind you about us ;-)
Let us know which colors you'd prefer, and we'll answer with up to date pictures of the current inventory for you to choose.
Oh, and one more thing – the ring is 34 mm in diameter (1.33 inches), so it should fit a lot of keys.
Price: 2 Euro.

CHSTK PLR – it's never too cold to ride a bike
This one's for the people who find wool too itchy. The third (and last this winter) version of Mufa CHSTK is made of fleece. Low key grey of the fabric is contrasted only by the dark plum of the thread used to finish the edges and sew the velcro. The shape is the usual CHSTK shape, size likewise.
Technical properties of wool made way for the coziness of the fuzziness of fleece. The fabric is quite thick, but still CHSTK PLR weights next to nothing.
There was no sweat (too cold), no blood either (thankfully), but there were tears.
As the fabric is less refined than in the previous versions, CHSTK PLR costs less.
Size and shape are the same as in previous versions.
Price: 10 Euro.

In the pictures: Asia and Marcin. Big ups to you guys for posing in arctic environment!

RLN - woolen neck warmer
Made from Polish army neck warmers (new, not used - of course!) cut in half to make the length a bit more manageable. Now, they're from approx. 40x20 cm (15.7x7.8 inches) to approx. 60x22 cm (23.6x8.6 inches), and make great neck warmers, indispensable during winter and early spring rides (I seriously hope you're still riding your bikes despite all the white stuff around and the temperatures hitting new lows! :-). If you try hard enough, you can wear the RLN on your head, or form it into a balaclava.
The RLN's are made of a very strechy fabric, and are seamless, so they're really comfortable. The fabric is 25% wool, so it keeps you warm even when wet, and is naturally anti-bacterial (as in "won't stink after long wear").
Available in two colors: khaki, and steel grey. To liven the colors a bit, we printed the RLN's with a large Mufa logo: yellow on the khaki, black on the steel grey.
Price: 13 Euro. Use PayPal links on the right for immediate transaction.
